Flag of India – Tiranga
The flag of India, affectionately known as the Tiranga or tricolour, consists of three horizontal stripes of saffron (orange), white, and green. In the middle of the white stripe, and, thus, the center of the flag, is the Ashoka Chakra, the national symbol of India. The chakra is a wheel with 24 spokes and is navy blue in color.

Flags similar to the Indian flag in design and style
Flags of four other countries are similar in style and design to the Indian flag – Niger, Hungary, Tajikistan and Iran. All flags have three equal-sized stripes of red/orange, white and green with a central emblem (missing in the Hungarian flag). The shades of the colors of the stripes vary slightly and, obviously, the emblems are completely different.
- Flag of Niger - The flag of Niger consists of three horizontal bands of equal width. The top band is orange, representing the Sahara Desert; the middle band is white, symbolizing purity, and the bottom band is green, reflecting the fertile southern regions and the hope for a prosperous future. The design of the flag captures Niger’s geographical diversity, with the Sahara in the north and more fertile lands in the south. 
- Flag of Hungary - The flag of Hungary features three horizontal stripes of equal width: red at the top, white in the middle, and green at the bottom. These colors are inspired by the country’s historical coat of arms. Red color symbolizes strength, white represents fidelity and freedom, and green signifies hope and the lush landscapes of Hungary. 
- Flag of Tajikistan - Tajikistan’s flag features three horizontal stripes of equal width: red at the top symbolizing unity, white in the middle for purity and happiness, and green at the bottom representing fertile valleys and hope. In the center of the white stripe is a golden crown with seven stars which stands for cultural heritage and unity. 
- Flag of Iran - The Iranian flag has green, white, and red stripes, symbolizing fertility, peace, and honesty. A cered-colored central emblem adorns the flag. The emblem has four crescents and a line in the shape of a tulip, and is a geometrically symmetric form of the word Allah with other Islamic overlapping phrases.

The flags of India, Hungary, Tajikistan, Niger and Iran share common design elements – three equal-sized horizontal stripes and an emblem in the middle. The stripes are also of similar colors, red/orange, white, and green. The difference between the stripes is primarily in the tints and shades of the colors. For instance, the top-most stripes in the flags of Hungary and Tajikistan and bottom stripe of Iran are of a deep red color while the ones in Niger and India flags are more towards orange. The central symbol (emblem), absent in the Hungarian flag. Whereas, There is a navy blue Ashoka Chakra in the Indian flag, an orange circle in the flag of Niger, a crown with seven stars in the flag of Tajikistan and a red national emblem in Iran flag.
The main difference amongst these similar four flags is the proportion – the height:width ratio. The flag of Niger is almost square, while those of Tajikistan and Hungary are wider than the Indian flag, which has a height-width ratio of 2:3. The flag of Iran is approximately double the size of the Indian flag.
