Flag of Tajikistan
The flag of Tajikistan has three horizontal stripes of – red, white, and green. Smack in the middle, centered on the white stripe is a golden crown surmounted by an arc of seven stars.
The colors of Tajikistan’s flag carry significant symbolism. Red represents the nation’s unity and the courage of its people, white symbolizes purity, cotton production (the majority of Tajikistani agriculture), and the snow-capped mountains of the region, while green signifies the country’s fertile valleys and agricultural abundance. The crown symbolizes the Tajik people’s sovereignty and the seven stars represent unity and perfection.
Three Flags Similar to the Flag of Tajikistan
The flag of Tajikistan bears a striking resemblance to the flags of three other countries – Hungary, India and Niger. The Tajikistani flag is most similar to the Hungarian flag in both proportions (the height:width ratio which is the same) and the colors of the stripes. Although the layout of these flags is similar (three equal-sized horizontal stripes of red/orange, white, and green), each flag has its unique design elements and colors.
Hungary Flag

The flags of Tajikistan and Hungary not only share the horizontal tricolor design, their proportions are exactly the same too. In Tajikistan’s flag, red represents unity, white signifies purity, and green symbolizes prosperity. And in Hungary’s flag red stands for strength, white for fidelity and freedom, and green for hope.
India Flag

The national flags of Tajikistan and India have a similar design – three horizontal stripes and a central emblem. Tajikistan’s flag consists of red, white and green stripes, which symbolize unity, purity and prosperity, respectively. In contrast, India’s flag is composed of saffron (orange), white and green stripes, which represent courage, purity and growth, respectively. The central symbol in the Indian flag is a navy blue 24-spoked wheel known as the Ashoka Chakra while the Tajikistani flag has a royal crown and seven stars.
Niger Flag

Though both Tajikistan and Niger flags have three horizontal stripes of similar colors (though differing in tints), their central emblems are markedly different. The Tajikistan flag has a crown with seven stars, while the Niger flag has an orange disc.
Flags design & style: Three horizontal stripes and emblem in the center
All flags share a common design element of three horizontal stripes in the colors of red/orange (saffron), white, and green. However, the differences in the tints and shades of these colors, as well as the proportion of the flags, make them distinct from each other. It’s worth noting that Tajikistan, India and Hungary have rectangular flags, while Niger’s flag is almost square. Tajikistan’s flag has a height-width ratio of 1:2 which is exactly the same as the Hungarian flag.
The Tajikistani flag stands out with its central emblem of a crown surmounted by seven stars. On the other hand, the flags of India and Niger have an Ashoka chakra and an orange circle, respectively. And Hungarian flag has no emblem – just the three horizontal stripes.
